Program Description:

EmpowerHER (Entreprendre au Feminin) is a comprehensive program designed to empower Black Women Francophone Entrepreneurs in Alberta, providing them with the tools, resources, and community support needed to excel in their entrepreneurial endeavors. This program provides workspace, mentorship, training, and resources to help Black women Francophone entrepreneurs grow their ideas and businesses.

Program Components:

  1. Orientation and Networking Kickoff:

    • Introduction to the program’s goals and structure.
    • Icebreaker activities and networking sessions to foster connections.
  2. Cultural Identity and Business Alignment:

    • Workshop on embracing cultural identity and heritage as assets in entrepreneurship.
    • Discussing how to align business strategies with personal values.
  3. Financial Literacy and Funding:

    • Financial management skills tailored to entrepreneurs’ needs.
    • Guidance on accessing funding opportunities and grants for women-owned businesses.
  4. Technology and Digital Tools:

    • Exploring tech solutions to streamline business operations and enhance productivity.
    • Introduction to tools for online sales, social media management, and virtual collaboration.
  5. Mentorship and Peer Support:

    • Establishing mentor-mentee relationships with successful Black women entrepreneurs.
    • Peer support groups for sharing experiences, challenges, and successes.
  6. Cultural Entrepreneurship Showcase:

    • Organizing a showcase event to celebrate and promote products and services by participants.
    • Providing an opportunity to present to the local community and potential customers.
  7. Leadership and Advocacy:

    • Developing leadership skills to advocate for diversity and inclusion in the entrepreneurial landscape.
    • Encouraging participants to become role models and community advocates.
