Transparency and Financial Accountability
Our fiscal year ends on March 31. Our report is presented at the annual general meeting, usually held in September, and summarizes the financial and business activities of the year. The financial statements are prepared by our auditors Bergeron & Co and LaBrie Professional Services.

OPERATION OF THE AFRO-CANADIAN ENTREPRENEURS ASSOCIATION
IT IS DESCRIBED that the following provisions constitute an administrative regulation of ACANEA:
- Article 1 – General 1.01 Regulations
The regulations in Table “A” of the first schedule to the Companies Act, RSA, 1980, chapter C-20 or other laws promulgated in its place, as amended, do not apply to ACANEA, except to the extent that they are repeated or incorporated into these Bylaws.
- Definitions
Unless the context indicates a different meaning, in this regulation and in all other ACANEA regulations:
- “administrator” means a member of the board of directors.
- “Special meeting of members” means a meeting of one or more categories of members or a special meeting of all members.
- “meeting of members” means an annual or special meeting of members.
- “Board of Directors” means the board of directors of ACANEA.
- “Act” the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, SC 2009, c. 23, including the regulations made under the Act and any law or regulation that may replace them, as well as their amendments.
- “Members” means, unless otherwise stated, Category A Members and Category B Members.
- “proposal” means a proposal submitted by a Category A member that meets the requirements of section 163 (Member’s proposal) of the Act.
- “regulation” means any regulation made under the Act, as well as its amendments or updates, that are in force.
