The ACANEA Entrepreneurial Grant Program – From Idea to Business is an initiative designed to support Black Francophone entrepreneurs in Alberta in turning their business ideas into reality. The program aims to transform promising ideas into viable, sustainable businesses that create wealth for their owners and contribute to the economic prosperity of their communities.

The ACANEA Entrepreneurial Grant Program – From Idea to Business is an initiative designed to support Black Francophone entrepreneurs in Alberta in turning their business ideas into reality. The program aims to transform promising ideas into viable, sustainable businesses that create wealth for their owners and contribute to the economic prosperity of their communities.
Through a structured development pathway, participants receive personalized support to acquire the skills, knowledge, and tools needed to successfully launch or grow their businesses.
The program includes:
- Evaluation and validation of the business idea;
- Entrepreneurship and business management training;
- Development of a comprehensive business plan;
- Mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs;
- Workshops on marketing, finance, accounting, legal considerations, and business growth strategies;
- Guidance in accessing funding opportunities and securing capital;
- Networking opportunities with investors, business partners, and industry leaders;
- A $3,000 start-up grant, awarded to the program’s winning participant to help launch their business, cover part of the initial start-up costs, and accelerate the implementation of their entrepreneurial project.
Program Objective
The objective of the ACANEA Entrepreneurial Grant Program is to promote the creation and growth of businesses led by Black Francophone entrepreneurs, foster innovation, create employment opportunities, and strengthen the economic prosperity of Black communities across Alberta.
By providing high-quality business support, mentorship, and a $3,000 start-up grant to the participant with the strongest entrepreneurial project, ACANEA empowers aspiring entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into successful and sustainable businesses while contributing to the economic development of the community.
