Program Description
EmpowerHER (Entreprendre au Féminin) is a comprehensive program designed to empower Black Francophone women entrepreneurs in Alberta by providing them with the tools, resources and community support needed to excel in their entrepreneurial efforts. This program provides workspace, mentorship, training and resources to help Black Francophone women entrepreneurs develop their ideas and businesses.
Networking Orientation and Launch
- Introduction to the objectives and structure of the program.
- Icebreaker activities and networking sessions to foster connections.
Cultural Identity and Business Alignment
- Workshop on adopting cultural identity and heritage as assets in entrepreneurship.
- Discussion on how to align business strategies with personal values.
Financial education and financing
- Financial management skills tailored to the needs of entrepreneurs.
- Guidance on access to financing opportunities and grants for women-owned businesses.
Technology and digital tools
- Explore technology solutions to streamline business operations and improve productivity.
- Introduction to online sales, social media management and virtual collaboration tools.
Mentoring and peer support
- Building mentor-mentee relationships with successful Black women entrepreneurs.
- Peer support groups to share experiences, challenges and successes.
Showcase of cultural entrepreneurship
- Organize a showcase event to celebrate and promote participants' products and services.
- Provide an opportunity for presentation to the local community and potential customers.
Leadership and advocacy
- Developing leadership skills to champion diversity and inclusion in the entrepreneurial landscape.
- Encourage participants to become role models and advocates for the community.
