Business Support
Access
to capital
We help our Black entrepreneur and small business owner members who are struggling to access capital through alternative financing resources.
Access to capital plays an important role in entrepreneurship and lack of access to capital is often cited as one of the major barriers that entrepreneurship faces. At ACANEA, we ensure that black businesses are connected to government and stakeholders.
Our team will guide you through every step of your entrepreneurial journey, from planning to financing to launch. The RBC program for Black entrepreneurs aged 18-39 offers seed loan financing and up to two years of mentorship, as well as access to resources and networking opportunities with other entrepreneurs across Canada. With diversity and inclusion as core values, Futurpreneur supports young Canadian entrepreneurs from all backgrounds, helping them launch and grow successful businesses. We launched this customized version of our core Startup program specifically to help overcome some of the barriers to success that many aspiring Black entrepreneurs face. This program is funded by RBC, with additional loan financing from BDC.
The Black Entrepreneurship Loan Fund, a component of the Black Entrepreneurship Program (BEPP), is a partnership between FACE, the Government of Canada, BDC and private sector financial institutions. The Fund will provide loans of up to $250,000 to support Black business owners and entrepreneurs across Canada and lay the foundation for future success and long-term change. The loan program will finance existing businesses (up to a maximum of $250,000) and start-ups (up to a maximum of $50,000) through two programs: the Micro-Loan Pilot Program and the Macro-Loan Program.
Black entrepreneurs make significant contributions to our communities and economy, but they face unique barriers that prevent them from realizing their full potential. BDC is here to help.
