Board of Directors

The Board of Directors determines policies and ensures that the Afro-Canadian Entrepreneurs Association’s business affairs are conducted in accordance with good governance practices. The board steers the strategic direction of the organization . Traditionally, board members are selected and announced at the Annual Meeting . Recommendations can come from the board, staff, or community. Recommendations are brought to the board and a board vote is initiated.

The Executive

Carole Tshibasu

Executive Director
Carole Tshibasu graduated from Laurentian University with a degree of art, major of low and justice. She has worked for the Federal government with Indigenous services Canada. She has been actively committed to the youth through the Kamunga Foundation to help them get their learners (Driver's licenses). She also has participated in many fund-raising activities.

Jeanne Smith

Entrepreneurial Director
She is a Senior Human Resource professional with over 10 years of experience working in the voluntary, not for profit and corporate sector, a senior management level. Expertise in: succession Planning, Leadership Coaching , Employment & Management Training and Development, conflit Resolution, and Team Building.

Peter Mullen

Project Director
He graduated from the University of MIT (Boston, USA). He is the Founder and CEO of Technology helps. He spent four decades in corporate technology leadership, management consulting and entrepreneurship with senior roles at Suncor energy. Hold an Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering.

Kalema M. Ernesto

President
Kalema Ernesto holds a Master's degree in oil and gas from the University of Nantes in France. He is doing doctoral studies in Geosciences (Reservoir) and plans to complete his dissertation in 2024 as well as Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.). He has worked around the world in British Petroleum (BP) as a Senior Production Director for over 15 years of his career.Currently is an International Petroleum Engineer Consultant with multifaceted projects.

Lola Olorunfemi

Vice-President
Lola had her undergraduate and postgraduate nursing education in the United States of America, Master's degree in nursing from Jacksonville University with on focus on leadership in health system. She also has a certificate in inter-professional healthcare informatics, from the University of Minnesota. She has 10 years of nursing experience and currently she's Nurse Professor at University of MacEwan in Alberta.

Christopher Yafali

Treasure
Bachelor's degree in Engineering. He has high experiences in oil and gas production and he worked with multifaceted projects in engineering, management and oil & gas sector.

Ondel-Ansk Kay

Director
Ph.D. in Applied Economics, MBA, DEA in international relations and European Politics, is a full Professor at University of Alberta. In his role as a Professor, ha has developed just over dozen news courses in accounting, finance, management and statistics. His research interests focus on SME economics. He is the co-author of a book on high-growth SME.

Dieudonne Kandolo

Director
He is an Attorney and retired Canadian forces officer. He studied Faculty of Law, L.LL-JD at the University of Ottawa. Member of the Law society of upper Canada and Law Society of Alberta. Currently working in immigration law, family law, employment and criminal and personal injuries at DDK LAW Chambers. Former Capitan, Deputy Judge Advocate General at office of the judge Advocate General in the Canadian Forces in 2009-2013.

Andrew M. Joseph

Director
Andrew graduated from the University of Calgary. He has 15 years of Petroleum Engineering, currently he's Operation Manager at Nexxon Company, he has a certificate in Project Management.
